Something unexpected for Whatcom’s Thanksgiving weather forecast

Thanksgiving weather will be dry and mild — a typical Northwest autumn day, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service in Seattle.

But don’t forget to pack your waterproof gear, because rain will start Friday, Nov. 24, and continue off and on through the rest of the holiday weekend.

(Thanksgiving) looks pretty good,” said meteorologist Dustin Guy of the National Weather Service in Seattle.

“Maybe some cloud cover, but it looks dry and mild. (But) we start to go downhill by Friday afternoon,” Guy told The Bellingham Herald.

Daytime highs in Bellingham will hover around 50 degrees, with overnight lows in the upper 30s and low 40s.

Rain is likely from Friday through Sunday, along with snow in the mountains.

That could mean trouble in the mountain passes, including Interstate 90 and U.S. Highway 2.
