SLO County man killed in late-night crash on Highway 101 near Pismo Beach

A man was killed in a solo car crash near Pismo Beach late Wednesday night, according to a news release from the California Highway Patrol.
Just before 11:15 p.m., emergency units received reports of a traffic collision on Highway 101 near Price Street, according to the CHP release.

The driver, a male resident of Arroyo Grande, sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Cal Fire personnel, the release said.
A preliminary investigation suggested the man was driving a 2015 Honda Accord northbound on the highway toward Price Street at an unknown speed, lost control, crashed into a guardrail and a bridge rail, the release said.
The collision is still under investigation.

This was the second fatal Highway 101 crash in San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday.
