Security guard shoots man at West Side filling station, police say it's 'possible self-defense'

Aug. 20—An unidentified man is dead after a security guard fatally shot him on Monday.

Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said homicide detectives responded to a fatal shooting at a Circle K in the 100 block of 98th, near Central, sometime Monday night.

Gallegos said a security guard reportedly shot a man who died from his wounds.

"After consulting with the District Attorney's Office, this case is being reviewed as a possible self-defense shooting," Gallegos said Tuesday morning.
