Sacramento fire district investigates blaze at Arden Arcade homes after families flee

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District on Saturday responded to a two-alarm fire on Byron Road in Arden Arcade that displaced two families but resulted in no injuries.

The fire district will investigate the cause of the fire, which affected houses next door to each other. The fire threatened adjacent homes due to ember cast and wind. Roof construction also “created challenges” for putting the fire out “due to a pitched roof being added over a flat roof,” which kept fire hidden.

“An aggressive attack and search limited the fire spread, and all occupants were safely evacuated without injury,” according to the district’s public information officer via X (formerly known as Twitter).

The district will leave it under investigation until they can determine the fire’s cause and origin, a public information officer told The Bee.
