Sabrina Carpenter’s sixth studio album, “Short n’ Sweet,” is officially here — and so is the music video for the pop star’s new single, “Taste," co-starring “Wednesday” actor Jenna Ortega.

In the playfully violent video, Carpenter and Ortega fight over a boyfriend, played by actor Rohan Campbell. The lyrics describe the women's charged relationship: “I heard you’re back together and if that’s true/ You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissin’ you/ If you want forever, I bet you do/ Just know you’ll taste me too.”

Amid the music video's blood, amputations and pyrotechnics, one particular moment has captured fans’ attention: Carpenter and Ortega's kiss.

As expected, audiences have flocked to social media to express their reactions to the unexpected smooch.

“sabrina carpenter and jenna ortega kissing just became my new favorite thing,” one person wrote on X.

“ya it would be my favourite music video too if i got to make out with jenna ortega,” another user commented beside a clip from Carpenter’s August 22 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she described the music video as her “favorite one I’ve ever done.”

“sabrina carpenter and jenna ortega kissing was not on my bingo card but i am so here for it,” another X user said of the viral moment.

Many fans believe the video draws inspiration from the 1992 film “Death Becomes Her,” which features Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis.

One X user posted a comparison of stills from the movie with scenes from Carpenter’s music video.

In an Instagram post announcing the release of the music video, Carpenter said she “had one person in mind" for the video: Ortega.

“Watching her on screen is a true dream come true and I’m so inspired, impressed, and amazed by her,” she continued.

Ortega also took to Instagram the day of the video's release, posting a polaroid of herself and Carpenter on set, with the caption “TASTE.”

Carpenter responded to the post with “u kill me 🤍,” humorously alluding to the video’s murderous theme.

In a second post about the music video, Ortega shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos, writing, “So proud and excited for you sweet girl. Absolutely loved making this one, thank you for having me. How special. I’d kill for you whenever....”

Carpenter is taking “Short n’ Sweet,” released Aug. 23, on the road for her “Short n’ Sweet Tour,” which kicks off Sept. 23 in Columbus, Ohio.

Ortega's next project, "Beetlejuice," hits theaters Sept. 6.
