Recreational cannabis sales in New Mexico hit new high in March

Apr. 8—Recreational cannabis sales in New Mexico reached a new monthly high of $39.5 million in March, according to data from the state's Cannabis Control Division.

The data, released earlier this month, also shows medical sales ticked up to just over $13 million from $12.3 million the previous month.

Sales in Santa Fe also picked up last month from a bit of a slump in February, with recreational purchases totaling $2.1 million for March and just over $1 million for medical cannabis sales.

Sunland Park, on the Texas border near El Paso, sold $4.4 million in recreational marijuana and $188,631 in medical cannabis.

Albuquerque, the state's largest city, had its best month to date for adult-use sales — nearing $11 million.

To date, roughly $718 million in recreational marijuana has been sold in the state since legal sales began in April 2022.
