  • "The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the number of scams that we are all experiencing. The most vulnerable population is being hit the hardest — our seniors. One of the many scams that are affecting our over 55 population involves prepaid gift cards. These scammers are calling, texting, or emailing asking the victims to purchase specific gift cards, scratch the security code off the back, and sending them the information." (smithtownmatters.com)

  • "Sen. Mario R. Mattera (2nd Senate District) this week joined with his colleagues in the Senate Republican Conference to send a letter to the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to outline their concerns with the continuation of COVID-related rules, such as mandating masks for school children, and to demand public input on proposed rules changes."(The New York State Senate)
