A woman was detained after ramming a pickup truck into the side of a home while on the run from police on Thursday evening.

At around 6:00 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on a pickup truck containing a suspect who they knew had multiple felony warrants, a spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department told the Bee.

The suspect stopped briefly before fleeing in the vehicle, leading officers on a “brief” car chase before colliding into the side of a residence on the 8100 Block of Valley Hi Drive, in the Valley Hi neighborhood near South Sacramento.

The Sacramento Fire Department announced in a post to social media that an adult man inside the residence was critically injured by the crash, which also severed the home’s gas meter.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital, according to the police. The subject was safely detained, and police said she would soon be booked into jail for charges related to the pursuit as well as her outstanding warrants.

No other information was released about the suspect, but Sacramento Police said that no suspects are outstanding.
