PG&E outage knocks out power to hundreds of Cambria customers, including Christmas Market

Update, 7:45 p.m.:

Power has been restored to the Cambria Christmas Market, according to CHP Templeton.

“As they say, the show must go on,” CHP said in a Facebook post. “The organizers of the Cambria Market have decided to go ahead with tonight’s show. Have fun and drive safe.”

According to PG&E’s outage map, 320 customers in Cambria remain without power.

A PG&E outage has knocked out power to several hundred customers in Cambria, including the popular Cambria Christmas Market and much of the coastal town’s business district.

According to PG&E’s outage map, the power went out at 4:11 p.m. in neighborhoods north of Main Street and around Burton Drive.

The Cambria Christmas Market is located on the grounds of the Cambria Pines Lodge.

Meanwhile, the Cambria Christmas Concert at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, very near the Lodge, has power and the Louis Ortega concert scheduled for 7 p.m. will happen as planned, according to organizer Brynn Albanese.

Some 739 customers were without power as of 6 p.m. The outage began at 4:11 p.m.

PG&E said crews were assessing the cause, and it expected electricity to be restored by 11:45 p.m.
