Pastor says ‘entire magazine of bullets’ ripped through his Tennessee home. ‘Horrific’
A pastor took to social media to show images of dozens of bullet holes found throughout his Tennessee property, including his youngest daughter’s bedroom, he said.
“A madman unloaded an entire magazine of bullets from an automatic weapon into our house, garage and my truck,” Greg Locke said in a Sept. 4 Facebook post.
The pastor said security footage showed him pulling up to his driveway on Tuesday, Sep. 3, just after the gunfire. Only one of his six kids was home at the time and was not injured, he said.
“The sound on the video is truly horrific,” Locke said.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired at Locke’s residence around 10:30 p.m., the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office told McClatchy News. Upon arrival, police said they located approximately 30 to 40 shell casings.
No one was injured, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
‘God protected us’
Among the images Locke shared on social media are two showing bullet holes through his daughter’s headboard and pillows.
He said his family spent the night at a hotel, and they had no other details.
“The only detail that matters is that Psalm 91 is true,” Locke said. “God protected us in unimaginable and supernatural ways.”
The pastor has a Facebook following of over 2 million, and by the next day, the post had over 14,000 comments, including prayers for the family.
“May God keep you and your family in his armor and protect you,” wrote one person. “I stand with you Pastor Greg Locke — you’re an awesome man of God,” someone else wrote.
Who is Pastor Greg Locke?
Locke is the founder and lead pastor of Global Vision Bible Church, a Baptist congregation located just outside of Nashville.
The pastor and congregation have gained attention in recent years over controversial stances taken on social issues. In 2020, Locke said he was willing to go to jail before closing his church, despite statewide safety guidelines during the pandemic.
GVBC has been the target of vandalism, including one instance where a trailer full of Bibles was set on fire near the church, The Tennessean reported.
