Palm Beach homeowner Sean Hannity calls Florida "my new home" on his radio show

Conservative firebrand and Palm Beach homeowner Sean Hannity has begun broadcasting his nationally syndicated radio show from “the free state of Florida, my new home,” he said Tuesday on the program.

But Hannity, a prolific real estate investor, apparently did not say exactly where in Florida the show is now based.

He reportedly said he was drawn to Florida, in part, by its conservative political climate as compared to New York, the longtime home of “The Sean Hannity Show.”

Regular listeners would know that he had “been threatening to do this for quite a while. But we are now beginning our first broadcast (out) of my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida. I am out. I am done. I’m finished. New York, New York — goodbye,” he reportedly said.

Hannity's remarks were published by mid-afternoon Tuesday on the website Mediaite.com, which appears to have been the first outlet to have reported them, an online search showed. The Palm Beach Daily News has not independently confirmed the entire transcript of the broadcast.

Hannity has frequently broadcast his radio show from a studio at his estate on North Shore of Long Island in New York, according to published reports.

Hannity has owned a Palm Beach townhouse since April 2021, when he paid a recorded $5.3 million for it.

But Palm Beach law would prevent him from broadcasting from that residence, an official confirmed late Tuesday afternoon.

The town does not allow businesses to operate out of private homes, Palm Beach Town Council President Margaret Zeidman told the Palm Beach Daily News.

“It’s in our ordinances,” she said.

Hannity's oceanfront townhouse is in the Residences at Sloan’s Curve on the South End of Palm Beach. In November, he won the town’s permission to expand one of its three bedrooms.

He does not have the Palm Beach townhouse homesteaded as his primary residence in the latest Palm Beach County property-tax rolls.

The late Rush Limbaugh once broadcast his own conservative radio show from his Palm Beach oceanfront estate but ended up renting commercial space for a studio across town to comply with the law.

Hannity’s radio show is broadcast on the iHeart Radio network. He also hosts a weeknight television show, “Hannity,” on the Fox News network.

Hannity could not be reached, and a spokeswoman for Fox News did not immediately return an emailed request for comment.

Hannity’s decision to choose Florida over New York reflects a national trend, he reportedly said Tuesday on his radio program.

“This migration out of the deep-blue states with high taxes, burdensome regulation, high crime, horrible school districts, is real. And if anything, I’m probably late and behind the curve, and many others have made the move beforehand,” Hannity said, according to Mediaite and other sources.

He also reportedly said: “And finally, for the first time that I can think of in my adult life, I actually have (government) representatives in the state that I’m living in that share my values.”

He reportedly mentioned three Florida Republicans: Gov. Ron DeSantis and U.S. senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott.
