Orlando Brown Reveals His Mindset On Chiefs’ Offensive Line

February 7th was a devastating night for the Chiefs’ offensive line. The Buccaneers got to Patrick Mahomes at will throughout Super Bowl LV. Mahomes was pressured on 52 percent of his 56 dropbacks. The 29 quarterback pressures (for Tampa Bay) was the most in Super Bowl history. Kansas City finished the game with nine points.

The Chiefs have brought in reinforcements in response to their Super Bowl loss. They’ve signed Joe Thuney and Austin Blythe, brought Kyle Long out of retirement and retained Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. In the draft, KC selected Creed Humphrey in round two and acquired Orlando Brown via trade.

According to the 6-foot-8 Brown, who spent his first three pro seasons in Baltimore, the Chiefs’ O-Line is headed in the right direction.

“They brought in a bunch of great guys who love the game of football and who play this game very emotionally,” Brown said Tuesday. “We’re all emotionally invested in each other, in the game and in this team . . . I’m super excited to get to work. It’s time to prove it as opposed to talking about it, but I’m excited.”

Brown, coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances, has faith in his new team’s offseason moves. KC’s new and improved line has an opportunity to justify the hype in Week One versus Cleveland.
