One person killed in hit and run on North Kings Highway and Cove Drive

One person was killed by the driver of an unknown vehicle in a hit and run in the Myrtle Beach area on Saturday.

The hit and run occurred around 10:25 p.m., according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A driver was traveling north on North Kings Highway when it struck a pedestrian near Cove Drive. The pedestrian was killed.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.

The make and model is unknown. The vehicle will have damage on the front and on the hood, Lieutenant Sonny Collins said.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the crash to call *HP.
