Michigan have ended their near-decade losing streak to Ohio State, winning 42-27. But while Ohio State fans have a lot to be upset about, one call has them absolutely fuming.

In the middle of the fourth quarter, C.J. Stroud scored a long rushing touchdown. But the referees promptly threw the flag and called the play back for holding.

However, a review of the play left just about everyone scratching their heads to find the hold. While the Buckeyes ultimately managed to score a touchdown on the drive, it took a lot more time than the Buckeyes didn’t have.

Fans quickly took to Twitter, practically screaming into the void about how terrible the officiating was. Many complained that between the bad hold and some iffy pass interference calls, the Wolverines were almost gifted a win:

Ultimately, fans and analysts probably won’t look back on this game and point to that phantom holding call as a turning point. Michigan imposed their will on Ohio State’s defense with their run game early and often.

Wolverines running back Hassan Haskins etched his name into school history with 169 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. The team as a whole finished with over 300 rushing yards on the day.

One bad holding call may have represented the team’s performance overall, but it didn’t decide the game.

Do Ohio State fans have a right to be upset over the holding call?
