On Monday, EA Sports’ Madden NFL 22 released its ratings for the top 10 receivers in the game. The list includes names you’d expect, like Davante Adams and DeAndre Hopkins. It also features one major surprise. Believe it or not, Amari Cooper made the cut.

Adams got the respect he deserves. The Green Bay Packers wide receiver tops the list with a prestigious 99 overall rating. Adams was sensational last season. He caught 115 passes for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns in 14 games. He also just so happened to help Aaron Rodgers win the 2020-21 NFL MVP. He deserves the 99 overall rating.

Hopkins of the Arizona Cardinals and Tyreek Hill of the Kansas City Chiefs trail Adams with a 98 rating. Stefon Diggs (97) and Julio Jones (95) round out the top five.

Then, believe it or not, Cooper checks in at No. 8 with a 92 overall rating. He even tops Mike Evans and Allen Robinson.

What do NFL fans think about Madden NFL 22‘s new ratings? Let’s just say most aren’t happy with the Amari Cooper inclusion.

There’s no doubt the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is talented. But is he really the eighth-best receiver in the league? Probably not. Most would take Mike Evans and Allen Robinson over Cooper, despite having a lower rating in Madden NFL 22.

It’s not that Amari Cooper is bad. He’s a big-time talent. But he probably still has a ways to go until he can be recognized as a top-10 receiver.

Last season, Cooper caught 92 passes for 1,114 yards and five touchdowns. Impressive? Absolutely. Top-10 wideout? Probably not.

What do you think? Does Cooper deserve a 92 overall rating in Madden NFL 22?
