The Green Bay Packers are in hot water with two of their superstar players.

Longterm contract hangups with Aaron Rodgers have been well-documented for months, but now, the reigning league MVP is joined by his All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams. On Friday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Adams has broken off longterm contract discussions with the Packers with no plans to resume them.

With both of their futures in Green Bay up in the air, anything either of these guys post on social media is open to deep interpretation. So when the QB-WR duo seemingly planned a coordinated social media post on Friday, the NFL world didn’t take it lightly.

Both taking to their Instagram stories, Rodgers and Adams each shared the same photo of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

Heading into the final season of his contract, Adams will become an unrestricted free agent in 2022. Rodgers, who’s current contract extends through 2023, has a potential out after this coming season as well.

These contract details paired with the Jordan-Pippen photo has led many to believe that Rodgers and Adams are planning one “Last Dance” in Green Bay.

This idea directly contrasts yesterday’s reports that Rodgers will retire before the start of this season. Pointed out by Packers insider Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated, several sportsbooks adjusted their odds on Friday under the assumption that the reigning league MVP would not be playing in Green Bay next year.

Both Rodgers and Adams put up some of the best numbers of their careers in 2020. With a three-time All-Pro quarterback throwing him the ball, the seventh-year wideout logged 1,374 yards and a league-leading 18 receiving touchdowns. Rodgers led the league in touchdown passed for the second time in his career with 48.

Without or without their superstar duo, the Packers will kick off their training camp on Wednesday.
