NFL World Reacts To What Brett Favre Said About Derrick Henry

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre took a break from courting controversy to say something that we can all agree on: Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is special.

In a recent interview on SiriusXM, Favre compared Henry to Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss. He feels that no matter how you try to defend Henry, the Titans halfback will still make plays – much like Moss did in his prime.

“I watch Derrick, and he reminds me so much–and this is kind of an odd comparison–but he reminds me a lot of Randy Moss, and how he controlled the game,” Favre said, via Sports Illustrated. “The only person that would stop Randy Moss would be Randy Moss. We double-covered him, we triple-covered him, and yet he still made the plays. You put nine guys in the box [against Henry], and it doesn’t matter.”

Favre has found no shortage of people agreeing with him here. Even the Titans official Twitter account gave the former Packers, Jets and Vikings quarterback props for praising their star running back. Some believe Henry is the closest thing to the GOAT of running backs: Jim Brown.

Derrick Henry has led the NFL in rushing in each of the last two seasons. Last year he joined the esteemed 2,000-yard rushing club.

But with how he’s playing this season, he could not only top 2,000 yards again, but break Eric Dickerson’s record.

Henry is averaging 130.5 yards per game and is on pace for over 2,200 yards this season – which would shatter Dickerson’s record of 2,105 (albeit with an extra game).

Randy Moss broke all kinds of records in his Hall of Fame career.

Brett Favre might be onto something here.
