Nearly 75 businesses have joined Raleigh’s social drinking district. Here’s the list.

Raleigh’s first social district begins Monday, Aug. 15.

The new program allows people to drink and consume alcohol bought in the district within the district boundaries, including on the sidewalk. It doesn’t let people bring alcohol from home or from a business outside the social district.

People purchase the drinks in special to-go cups that businesses provide that include when and where the beverage was purchased.
