James Harden has, deservedly, caught plenty of flak this week for his previous criticism of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Back in 2020, Harden blasted Antetokounmpo for his lack of skill. Why the hate? The Bucks superstar took home the 2019-20 NBA MVP over Harden.

“I wish I could be 7-feet, run and just dunk; that takes no skill at all,” Harden said in an interview with Rachel Nichols on The Jump. “I’ve got to actually learn how to play basketball. How to have skill. I’ll take that any day.”

Well, Antetokounmpo got the last laugh earlier this week when he had a legendary performance to help the Bucks win the NBA Finals. The 7-footer with “no skill” just so happens to be the best player in basketball right now.

NBA fans have taken to Twitter to blast James Harden for what he had to say about Giannis Antetokounmpo a year ago.

Take a look.

There’s no doubt Giannis Antetokounmpo is physically gifted. But he’s a much more skilled player now than he was two or three years ago. He dialed in his strengths and preys on opposing defenses as a result. There’s nothing wrong with that.

James Harden should probably stop talking so much about other players and focus on his own game. The Nets star wasn’t healthy very often during the regular season and barely played in the playoffs. And he has yet to win a championship, unlike Antetokounmpo.

In the end, who cares how skilled Antetokounmpo is? He’s probably the most dominant player since Shaquille O’Neal, who just happens to be a legend.

Antetokounmpo may just be the new king of the NBA following his legendary Finals performance.
