MMA: Brown loses by unanimous decision in Florida

Aug. 16—In Hollywood, Fla., Albuquerque-based MMA welterweight Chris "Breezy" Brown lost by unanimous decision to Thad Jean Friday night on a Professional Fighters League card.

Brown dropped to 10-5. Jean, a crowd favorite from nearby Fort Lauderdale but a native of Haiti, remained undefeated at 8-0.

A Houston native who trains in Albuquerque at Jackson-Wink, Brown was active throughout, particularly with a variety of kicks, and based on his reaction when the decision was announced felt he'd done enough to win.

But the judges favored Jean, who appeared to land the more damaging blows.

The scorecards read 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28.
