Usually when an MLB player moves to a new city via a trade, they look for an apartment or even a house to hang their hat and gloves first. But one MLB pitcher would prefer to spend his days in his new city on a boat.

Pitcher Andrew Chafin was recently traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Oakland Athletics. Chafin promptly took to Twitter to meet his new fans.

But rather than ask for help finding a realtor or apartment broker, Chafin asked his fans to help him find a boat to live on. He even pledged to give free tickets and a case of beer to anyone who can help him find one.

“Alright @Athletics fans I’ve got a challenge for y’all. I’m trying to find a boat to live on while I’m in Oakland. Something I can also take out fishing. Free tickets and a case of beer to anyone that can help me line something up!!!!” Chafin wrote.

Unsurprisingly, Andrew Chafin is having no problem at all finding people reaching out to him. Whether it’s the promise of free tickets, free beer or just a chance to chat with him, numerous people are trying to get him his boat.

Or maybe they’re simply trying to entice Chafin to stay in Oakland. He has been having a decent season for the Cubs, after all.

So far Chafin has an ERA of 2.03, with just 22 hits and nine runs allowed in 40 innings.

Good luck on the boat hunting.
