During the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade in February, linebacker Drue Tranquill made it clear he was thrilled to have joined the Chiefs after starting his career with the Chargers.

This is way better than LA! Hey, this is way better than LA!” Tranquill yellwed to fan on the parade route. “It’s way better than LA! I promise you that.”

Tranquill is putting down roots in Kansas City. He signed a three-year contract extension with the Chiefs in March and he’s partnering with one of Kansas City’s pizza restaurants to raise money for a local non-profit.

Minsky’s is selling a Tranquilo Crunch pizza. Here is a description from Minsky’s website:

Drue created an Italian masterpiece as a tribute to his heritage and loaded it up with meat — gotta have that protein! The Tranquilo is loaded up with your favorites — Italian sausage, American sausage, capocollo, and ground beef with a generous crown of Wisconsin mozzarella, cupping pepperoni, and a dusting of Romano and oregano. And to make this one extra special, Minsky’s created the Italian-seasoned Panko ‘Crunch’ crust!”

Every Tranquilo Crunch pizza ordered during the season will benefit Operation Breakthrough! That’s the non-profit that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has supported during his time in Kansas City.

Operation Breakthrough says it works “to provide a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and to empower their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education.”
