Michigan men wanted after hacking billboard to play explicit videos

Drivers in Michigan were hit with an unexpected roadside attraction Saturday.

Thanks to the work of two male suspects — who police have yet to find — a billboard in the town of Auburn Hills played pornographic videos for around 20 minutes straight.

"I came across a billboard and it was something unusual," Justin Kammo, who drove by the explicit billboard Saturday night, told WXYZ-TV. "You could kind of see people started to break a lot behind me, because I think they were doing the same thing, like a double-take. You don’t see that every day."

The sign, located off the I-75 interstate, was apparently hacked by two men who broke into a shed beneath the billboard that operates its controls. Police were baffled by the crime.

"I've never seen or heard of anything like this," Auburn Hills Police Lt. Ryan Gagnon told the Detroit Free Press.

The two suspects, who appear to be young, white males, were captured on video breaking into the shed shortly before the video played. They can be seen in surveillance footage wearing glasses and hooded sweatshirts to cover their faces.

Police said the suspects could face burglary charges for entering the shed, as well as a possible 90-day jail sentence for promoting pornography. The biggest concern, however, was the danger posed to drivers speeding by the sign.

Lt. Gangon said there were no known accidents during the incident, but noted that the video, which appeared extremely bright against the night sky, was "a huge distraction to drivers and obviously obscene and inappropriate."

"It was very bizarre," another driver, Chuck McMahon, told WDIV-TV. "I was just looking up at it and I was like, 'Huh, oh, wow. That's porn."
