Memphis basketball adds walk-on James DeJesus who played for Penny Hardaway at East High

The Memphis basketball roster reconstruction continues.

Coach Penny Hardaway welcomed a late addition Friday in the form of Southwest Tennessee Community College guard James DeJesus. The 6-fot-1 junior joins Conor Glennon and Tadarius Jacobs as walk-ons with the Tigers.

It's a reunion of sorts for DeJesus, who played for East High alongside Malcolm Dandridge, Jayden Hardaway, Alex Lomax, Chandler Lawson. Penny Hardaway was also on staff during DeJesus' time at East. DeJesus finished his prep career at Hamilton, where he helped the Wildcats win a AA state championship in 2018.
