Following Manchester United’s loss to Everton on Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly smashed a supporter’s phone.

A video on social media showed Ronaldo leaving the pitch at Goodison Park. As he was heading to the tunnel, he appeared to slap a phone out of a fan’s hand.

Manchester United told ESPN that they’re investigating this incident involving Ronaldo.

However, the club is unclear what exactly happened and if Ronaldo’s actions were intentional.

Here’s the video of Ronaldo that’s circulating on social media:

Roughly an hour ago, Ronaldo issued an apology on Instagram. He also offered tickets to Old Trafford to the supporter.

“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing,” Ronaldo wrote. “Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game. I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship.”

Manchester United should have an update on this investigation at a later date.
