Man fatally shot in Northwest Albuquerque

Mar. 29—A man was fatally shot late Thursday in a neighborhood north of Downtown Albuquerque.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of Bellamah NW, between Fifth and Sixth.

"Shortly after that, a resident called 911 to report shots fired in the area," he said.

Gallegos said officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds and he died at the hospital.

"Homicide detectives started an investigation," he said.
