Local law enforcement agencies are partnering this weekend to help support the community and fill local food banks, according to Lt. Jason Murfield, commander of the Mansfield post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Agencies will be at several locations throughout Richland County for a “Cram the Cruiser” event.

Law enforcement officers will be set up outside nearby grocery stores to collect nonperishable food items that will be donated to local food banks.

Anyone who is able and wishes to donate can join officers at any location and help “Cram the Cruiser.”

Last year, trucks full of food items were delivered to several food banks because of the generosity of those in the community. Murfield asked the public to help make this year another success.

The locations and times for this year are as follows.

Saturday: Stoodt’s Fresh Market in Bellville from 10 a.m. -2 p.m.; Kroger on Lexington Avenue from 11 a.m. -2 p.m.; Cornell’s IGA in Shelby from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.; and Walmart on Possum Run Road. from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Sunday: Kroger on Ashland Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Walmart on Possum Run Rd. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
