LeBron James among athletes paying respects to DMX after news of rapper's death
Legend. Icon. The sports world is honoring legendary rapper DMX, who died Friday at the age of 50. The Grammy-nominated artist suffered a heart attack at his home on April 2 and was in a coma for seven days. His family said he was on life support.
DMX, born with the birth name Earl Simmons, "was a warrior who fought till the very end," his family said in a statement. Tributes and honors poured in from athletes, including Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, after news of his death.
