The Kentucky men’s basketball program will change the location of its annual Blue-White preseason scrimmage this season.

Normally held at the Wildcats’ home court of Rupp Arena in Lexington, this fall Kentucky’s preseason intrasquad scrimmage will be held in Eastern Kentucky.

The change in location was announced Tuesday night in Rupp Arena by UK senior guard Sahvir Wheeler during the “Kentucky Flood Relief Telethon,” a fundraising effort spearheaded by the men’s basketball program that also included the team conducting an open practice.

Specific details about the Blue-White Scrimmage in Eastern Kentucky were not announced, but Wheeler said the game “might be” in Pikeville, which is home to Appalachian Wireless Arena, which can seat about 5,700 people for sports events.

The Blue-White Scrimmage is normally held the week after Big Blue Madness and prior to any preseason games that UK plays.

A date has not yet been set for Big Blue Madness.

The traditional preseason timeline will look different this year with Kentucky’s upcoming summer trip to the Bahamas.

Kentucky will play four games in the Bahamas against international opponents starting Wednesday, Aug. 10.
