Keep an eye on these 46 high school baseball players during the 2024 season in Wisconsin

The high school baseball season is underway, and the hope for each team is to make it to the WIAA state tournament in June in Grand Chute.

There will be plenty of talent on the diamond in 2024.

Here are 43 players from around the state to follow, in alphabetical order.

Abraham Ahlberg, sr., Solon Springs

The shortstop hit .476 last season and was an honorable mention all-state selection by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association.

Ahlberg is committed to Colorado Mesa University.

Kyle Alivo, sr., St. Thomas More

The right-hander was one of the top pitchers in the state as a junior after going 7-0 with a 1.86 earned run average while striking out 84 in 49 innings.

He will play in the Big Ten next season after committing to Iowa.

De Pere's Easton Arendt will be the ace of the staff this season.

Easton Arendt, sr., De Pere

One of the best hitters in the Fox River Classic Conference in 2023 and one of the Redbirds’ top pitchers after striking out 41 in 51 innings.

Arendt hit .396 and is expected to help lead a De Pere squad that enters the season as one of the best Division 1 teams in the state.

He is committed to Winona State.

Ryan Berghauer, sr., Brookfield East

The star outfielder hit .452 as a junior.

As good as he is at baseball, his future is in soccer. He will play at UW-Milwaukee and was named player of the year by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association after his senior season in the fall.

Brayden Bezanson, sr., Hudson

Hit .411 his junior season. He was an all-state honorable mention pick while serving as a designated hitter because of an injury.

He will be a key player for a Hudson squad that should be one of the top D1 teams in the state after losing in a sectional championship last season. Along with playing in the outfield, the left-hander could be the ace of the staff.

Bezanson is committed to Maryville University of St. Louis.

Jake Bjerke, sr., Eleva-Strum

The Winona State recruit was one of the top third basemen in the state as a junior. He hit .542.

Parker Bleck, sr., Appleton Xavier

The right-hander was an all-state honorable mention selection last season, finishing 7-2 with a 1.47 ERA.

Bleck committed to UW-Milwaukee.

Jackson Brewer, sr., Mequon Homestead

Announced his commitment last summer to play at Columbia University.

The outfielder-first baseman hit .425 with six home runs and 29 RBI as a junior.

Nolan Buss, sr., Hartland Arrowhead

Committed to play at Kansas State, where he will join his older brother, Mason.

Arrowhead went 21-7 last season and should be as good in 2024 with the return of Buss.

Hunter Carlson, sr., Hudson

Emerged as one of the best catchers in the state in 2023.

He hit .427 with 11 doubles, one home run, 23 RBI and a 1.165 OPS.

Carlson is committed to Wichita State.

Sawyer Deering, jr., Kimberly

The right-hander is one of the top pitchers in the state for the 2025 class. He also hit .382 as a sophomore.

Deering, a Tennessee commit, is a big reason the Papermakers are hoping to win their fifth straight Fox Valley Association title this season.

Kamron Diermeier, jr., Elk Mound

Established himself as one of the better players in the state as a sophomore.

The outfielder hit .397 and has a 4.0 grade-point average.

JD Dix, sr., Whitefish Bay

Enters his final season as arguably the best player in the state. The switch-hitter is a terror from both sides of the plate and a big factor in the run game. He hit .452 with two home runs, 30 RBI and 36 runs scored last season to lead his team to the D1 state title.

Dix is committed to Wake Forest after previously committing to Alabama.

Jack DeTienne, sr., Verona Area

The right-hander went 3-1 and struck out 27 in 32 innings as a junior.

DeTienne is a Xavier recruit.

Avery Duncan, sr., Green Bay Notre Dame

The Dallas Baptist recruit could be a future Major League Baseball draft pick.

The right-hander is the ace of a Tritons team that won 16 games last season. He has a fastball that has been clocked in the mid-90s.

Logan Dunn, sr., Wautoma

One of the top seniors overall in the state and a Missouri State recruit.

The outfielder and left-handed pitcher hit .476 last season.

Loren Georger, jr., Appleton West

One of the top pitchers in the 2025 class. Has displayed four quality pitches, including a fastball clocked in the 89-90 mph range.

The right-hander is committed to Baylor.

Jack Hardt, sr., Milwaukee Marquette

The infielder hit .432 with 42 RBI in 2023 and was an honorable mention all-state selection.

Tanner Hraby, sr., Medford

A key offensive force and pitcher as a junior, hitting .391 and going 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA.

He recently became the all-time leading run scorer in Medford history with 87 runs.

Hraby committed to UW-River Falls.

Eason Hurd, sr., Ashwaubenon

A first-team all-conference selection as a pitcher in the Fox River Classic as a junior and a second-team all-conference pick as an infielder.

Hurd hit .333 with three home runs and 19 RBI in league play, adding two doubles and three triples. The right-hander also served as the team’s top pitcher, going 3-3 with a 1.44 ERA while striking out 39 batters in 34⅓ innings.

Will play at Creighton.

The right-hander and outfielder went 8-0 with a 0.95 ERA as a junior while hitting .481. He throws in the low-90s and upper-80s on the mound.

Will play at Illinois-Chicago.

Keagen Jirschele, sr., Mosinee

The South Dakota State recruit is one of the top shortstops in the 2024 class.

He hit .430 last season.

Jameson Johnson, sr., Pecatonica

The infielder-pitcher helped lead his team to the WIAA D4 state tournament last season.

Johnson hit .476 with six home runs and 25 RBI and was one of the leaders of the pitching staff after going 6-1 with a 0.71 ERA.

The Gonzaga recruit dealt with an injury that shelved him for several weeks last season, but he still finished his junior year by striking out 53 in 29⅔ innings and limiting batters to a .207 average.

Eric Kenesie, sr., Kenosha St. Joseph

A dominant three-sport athlete who also plays football and basketball.

The outfielder hit .464 in 2023.

Nate Langbehn, sr., D.C. Everest

The right-hander and Wichita State recruit was almost impossible to score against last season.

Langbehn went 6-0 with a 0.16 ERA while striking out 91 in 44⅔ innings.

Tannis Lange, sr., Waukesha South

The left-hander had a 2.95 ERA and struck out 86 in 40⅓ innings last season.

He is committed to Ohio State.

Taylor Lemanski, sr., Mosinee

The outfielder was an all-state honorable mention as a junior after hitting .366.

He will play at UW-La Crosse.

Brock Lulewicz, sr., Muskego

The infielder is a Wichita State commit and is expected to be a major factor for a Muskego team that is among the best D1 programs in the state.

Tyler McKeon, sr., Pecatonica

The shortstop and pitcher was a third-team all-state pick by the WBCA last season after hitting .500 and stealing 26 bases.

The outfielder-pitcher gave up football in the fall to concentrate on baseball.

The left-hander is committed to North Carolina.

Eddie Peters, sr., La Crosse Aquinas

The infielder-pitcher will play at Xavier.

Peters hit .333 with five home runs and 31 RBI last season while going 1-0 with a 0.96 ERA and eight saves.

The Pirates missed out on going to state last season but hope to return in 2024.

One of the big reasons for optimism is the return of Plog, who has been one of the top pitchers in the Fox River Classic the last few seasons.

Plog went 7-0 with a 0.10 ERA and had 84 strikeouts in 50⅓ innings in 2023 while being named the league’s player of the year.

Tavian Ramos, sr., Neenah

The Cornell recruit and standout right-hander can throw upward of 95 mph and should emerge as one of the top pitchers in the Fox Valley Association.

Mason Roell, sr., West Bend East

Hit .438 with one home run, 25 RBI and a 1.258 OPS as a junior and was an all-state honorable mention pick at DH/utility.

He went 5-1 with two saves out of the bullpen.

Eddie Rynders, sr., Wisconsin Lutheran

The Kent State recruit has a good glove in the middle infield and a potent bat.

He hit .411 last season as one of the top players in the junior class.

Jake Ross, sr., Wisconsin Lutheran

The right-hander went 5-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 2023.

Ross committed to Bryant & Stratton.

Micah Salisbury, sr., Ithaca

The infielder-pitcher hit five home runs with an .825 slugging percentage and 1.396 OPS for a team that won the D4 state title.

Salisbury, a right-hander, went 7-2 with a 1.69 ERA and struck out 73.

Committed to River Falls.

Nate Schopf, jr., Oak Creek

Emerged as one of the top outfielders in the state as a sophomore. He also can top 90 mph in throwing velocity.

Oak Creek enters the season as one of the teams to beat in D1 after going 23-6 in 2023.

Schopf hit .439.

Josh Steger, sr., Lomira

The right-hander went 9-0 with a 0.23 ERA last season.

He will play at UW-Stevens Point.

Cameron St. John, jr., Altoona

The infielder-pitcher emerged as a sophomore to help lead Altoona to the D2 state tournament.

St. John hit .306 with three home runs, 31 RBI, five doubles and three triples.

His bat is DI worthy, but St. John will focus even more on his pitching this season.

C.J. Trask, sr., Oak Creek

A second-team all-state pick as a junior after hitting .453 with three home runs and 26 RBI.

The shortstop-pitcher will play at Bradley.

Trevor Vande Hey, jr., Wrightstown

The Iowa commit already is one of the top outfielders in the state only two seasons into his career.

He hit .378 and had seven extra base hits last season.

The right-hander went 5-0 with a 2.26 ERA last season, helping the Papermakers go 23-5 overall and 17-1 in the Fox Valley Association.

Vander Loop will play in college at UW-Milwaukee.

Carter Vieth, sr., Elk Mound

The star catcher is coming off a big junior season in which he hit .419.

Vieth will play at UW-Eau Claire.
