Kansas State’s newest football recruit has a strong family connection to the Wildcats.

Ryan Howard, a 6-foot-7 and 305-pound offensive lineman, announced his decision to play for K-State coach Chris Klieman in college with an announcement on social media on Friday evening. Howard is a promising young blocker from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, who just so happens to be related to the guy who plays quarterback in Manhattan.

That’s right. Will Howard’s younger brother (don’t call him little) will follow in his footsteps and join the Wildcats as a member of their 2024 recruiting class.

Ryan Howard chose K-State over several other interested teams. He also held scholarship offers from Syracuse, West Virginia, Maryland, Bowling Green and Temple.

He is considered a three-star prospect by Rivals.

K-State was one of the first schools to begin recruiting Ryan Howard. It was easy for Klieman and his coaching staff to notice him whenever he visited Manhattan for games.

Will Howard has two years of college eligibility remaining, so the Howard brothers could be teammates in 2024 after Ryan Howard arrives on campus.

With Ryan Howard on board, the Wildcats now have three pledges in their 2024 recruiting class. Ryan Howard is the second offensive lineman, joining Shawnee blocker Gus Hawkins.

The Wildcats also gained a commitment from Erie, Colorado, quarterback Blake Barnett earlier this month.
