'Juno' Actress Ellen Page Marries Emma Portner: See Her Adorable Announcement
For Ellen Page, 2018 is a new year–and she’s starting it with a new wife. The Juno actress announced via Instagram on Wednesday, January 3, that she quietly married fiancée Emma Portner.
“Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife,” Page wrote, tagging Portner’s handle. The actress also posted a slideshow, starting with a photo of their hands displaying their brand new wedding bands.
Portner reciprocated the love by sharing the same image on her page. “I get to call this incredible woman MY WIFE! @ellenpage I LOVE YOU!” she wrote.

The couple’s relationship was quietly revealed just this past summer. Portner, a Canadian, is an instructor at Broadway Dance Center. In her teacher bio on the site, it reads: “Emma Portner breaks boundaries. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, she shares her unique abilities internationally, in both live settings, and across social media platforms. Her performance and choreography appear in Justin Bieber’s Life Is Worth Living video as well as on his Purpose World Tour.”
Page first came out as gay on Valentine’s Day in 2014. “I feel so grateful to feel how I feel now, compared to [how I felt] when I was a closeted person,” she subsequently told Stephen Colbert in 2015. “It’s not a nice place to be. “[Staying in the closet] is toxic. I wish that no one had to live that way.”
