James Harden got his wish, he’s officially a Philadelphia 76er. And according to the 10-time All-Star, its been a long time coming.

“Originally, when I was going through everything I was going through in Houston, Philly was my first choice. It just didn’t happen,” Harden said via Matt Brooks of BasketballNews.com.

Now the Beard finally finds himself in the City of Brotherly Love, where he’ll join the best big man in the league.

The Sixers had to ship out some of their depth to bring in Harden, but the shear fire power of a former MVP and Joel Embiid should be more than enough to carry their offense. Along with Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey and shooters like Danny Green.

Harden first forced his way out of Houston for greener pastures and found himself in Brooklyn alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. However, injuries, vaccination status and other factors kept the Nets from reaching their full potential. And Harden ended up wanting out once again after playing only 16 games with KD and Uncle Drew.

Now James Harden is in as good a position as any to make a title run. But he and Philly don’t have much time to get acquainted before the playoff picture starts heating up.
