Updated

In 1985, Jackie Pettyjohn became the first female ever to become an engineer for SEPTA, Philadelphia's public transit system. Everyday since, she's worked the third shift, from 11:00 p.m. - 9:00 a.m. operating rail cars throughout the city. More woman have followed in her footsteps and joined the organization, but she was still the first of only 4% of the workforce that are female engineers, and 32 years later, doesn't plan to stop encouraging women to go into engineering.
