Update: Highway 227 crash cleared after blocking traffic in both directions

As of 10:15 a.m. the Highway 227 crash had been cleared, according to CHP public information officer Miguel Alvarez.

At least one person involved in the collision was transported to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries was unclear.

A car crash was blocking traffic on Highway 227 in Arroyo Grande in both directions Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 9:28 am Tuesday near the intersection of Carpenter Canyon Road and La Vida Lane, the CHP said.

According to the agency, a white Honda and a white truck crashed into each other, with the truck ending up on its side.

Tow trucks were requested for both vehicles.

The Arroyo Grande Police Department was blocking the intersection of Carpenter Canyon Road and Phillips Road.

According to the Caltrans map, traffic was blocked in both northbound and southbound lanes as of 10 a.m.

It was unclear as of 10 a.m. how long traffic will be affected.
