The George E. McCammon Distinguished Speaker Series: Steve Burns — 6 p.m. The Hettenhausen Center for the Arts, 400 N. Alton St., Lebanon. Steve Burns is an American actor and television host best known as the original host of the long-running children’s preschool television program “Blue’s Clues” from 1996 until 2002. After years of being the face of the much-loved “Blue’s Clues” series, Steve said his goodbyes to Blue in 2001 and went off to college. On stage, he candidly talks about the successes and, more importantly, the failures he has experienced along the way. Highland Arts Council Youth Arts Expo — 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. Highland Masonic Lodge, 721 Ninth St., Highland. The Highland Arts Council is seeking young artists to participate in Youth Arts Expo. Visual artists, musicians, vocalists, actors and writers in grades 6-12 are encouraged to apply to be a part of this exciting event. Keith Jackel Memorial Fund has given over $60,000 in scholarships

The Keith Jakel Scholarship Committee — Randy Kohlbrecher, Tina Fohne and Steve Frey — with the help of the Highland Area Community Foundation, established a memorial scholarship pass through fund to be able to give a full tuition scholarship for St. Paul Catholic School each year.

This is the 11th and final year for this scholarship. The committee is also ending the two $1,000 vocational scholarships given to Highland High School graduating seniors.

The committee has provided over $60,000 in scholarships. The HACF thanks the Keith Jakel Memorial Scholarship Committee for all of their past efforts.
