Heavenly Stitches re-opens under new management

May 21—LIMA — One local store provides room for creativity and learning. After several years in business, Heavenly Stitches hosted its grand re-opening on Tuesday afternoon.

"The business has been open since 2010," Chandra Neeper, the new owner, said. "I was the previous owners' manager for the last six years. I finished quilts for people. They called me their retirement plan and here we are."

Neeper purchased the business in January of 2024. She said the business has changed and grown in the last five months. Neeper also said the business has expanded their product line.

"We sell Bernina sewing machines," Neeper said. "I have like 2,500 bolts of high-quality fabrics and we teach classes."

The classes are ongoing throughout the year and held five to eight times per month. Community members who are interested in joining the classes learn the craft and sewing and friendship.

"It is a community here," Neeper said. "We have ladies who come in and are real intimidated and we are not that kind of people. We are not a clique in any shape or form. We want you to come in, learn and join our community. I have had multiple friendships come out of my classroom and it is awesome."

Neeper said she began her sewing journey as an adolescent.

"I have sewed since I was 6," Neeper said. "I have been doing it 40 years. I started as a garment sewer. When my daughter was born 23 years ago I decided to make a quilt for her — anything to do with a needle and thread I am obsessed with."

The building is located at 2696 Greely Chapel Rd. For more information visit their website at heavenlystitchesquilts.com or call 419-979-0218.
