The Bridgewater Fire Department extinguished a house fire on Clarence Avenue. Sadly, the residents were displaced and a dog died as a result of the fire.

In high school basketball playoffs, Phoebe Katilus became the hero for East Bridgewater as the junior post player helped lift the No. 8 Vikings past ninth-seeded Old Rochester, and Lauren Dunn stepped up in second half as Whitman-Hanson High defeated Newburyport.

Starting at the age of 11, Serina Ribeiro of Brockton fell in love with watching You Tube videos of sweets being made. Three years later, at 14, Ribeiro is looking to open a bakery, of course, with the help of her mother. Lenilda Ribeiro, the mother of the young baker, also started her baking journey alongside her daughter. The mother-daughter duo hopes to find a space this year to begin their journey of owning a family bakery.

Easton's Claire Cronin now in Ireland

Claire Cronin’s grandfather Hugh McLaughlin emigrated from Donegal, Ireland, to the U.S. with three of his brothers in 1912. Cronin has returned to the country of her ancestors as the new U.S. ambassador to Ireland. In Ireland, Cronin will live in the U.S. Ambassador's Residence, Deerfield, in Phoenix Park in Dublin, but the family is keeping a home in Easton and will be back for visits.

Jamaican flavors abound at Randolph restaurant

Nearly two years ago, the governor announced restaurants must shut down for indoor dining due to the pandemic. On the same day, The Well Jamaican Restaurant in Randolph opened its doors and was left to adjust to the new environment of take-out only. h Today, the restaurant at 55 Mazzeo Drive is still open, serving traditional Jamaican food and pressed juices with a tropical flavor.
