HAPO credit union coming to West Richland + $3M roof for Fred Meyer

HAPO Community Credit Union is starting construction of its first West Richland branch.

The city approved the $3.1 million project for 6185 Keene Road. The latest branch is near the Belmont district, home to West Richland City Hall and other municipal facilities.

It will be neighbors with Firehouse Subs SunMarket Belmont as well..

Richland-based HAPO has headquarters on Williams Boulevard and 19 branches across the Mid-Columbia.

Its Richland branches are at Meadow Springs and Queensgate. Its Kennewick outlets are at Southridge, the HAPO Business complex (aka the flashcube) and North Union Street. The Pasco branches are on North 20th Avenue and Road 68.

Established in 1953, HAPO is among the larger credit unions in Washington with $2.3 billion in assets and more than 206,000 members, according to the National Credit Union Administration.

HAPO membership is open to those who live, work, worship or attend school in Washington state or in the Oregon counties that border Washington.

Fred Meyer roof

The Richland Fred Meyer is getting a $3.1 million roof, according to a permit issued by the city of Richland to Fred Meyer’s parent, Kroger Corp.

Gorman Roofing Service is performing the work. The 170,000-square-foot store is at 101 Wellsian Way.

Bush Development expands on Edison

Bush Development, the father-sons team of Tim, Blake and TJ Bush, is adding a second set of business suites at Fat Cat Suites, its office complex on Okanogan Place off Edison Street in Kennewick.

Bush Development applied for permits to construct the new building with three spaces between the existing suites and its Edison Street Food Court, which will accommodate up to six food trucks.

MMEC Architect is the designer, Knutzen Engineering is the civil engineer and Hummell Construction is the contractor..

New Pasco offices

Elite Construction & Development is building a two-story, two-suite office complex at 6902 Rodeo Drive, Pasco, near the HAPO Center.

The project is valued at $1.3 million.
