Growing Wichita company expands with new headquarters and a new office in Orlando

Farha Roofing is getting a new headquarters and, somewhat unexpectedly, a sixth office nationally.

In July, the company is moving into the 21,000-square-foot former National Guard Armory on Edgemoor just north of Central.

“We’re remodeling it,” owner and president Ben Farha said. “It’s a pretty substantial project.”

The company currently is in smaller space near Harry and Hillside.

Farha said bad parking and a lack of space prompted the move.

“We’re growing,” he said.

The building is on almost three acres.

“We have a ton of room for equipment and if we ever need to store items,” Farha said.

He said now everything will be able to be in one place, and there’s also easy access for trucks coming and going.

There’s a recreational area in the middle of the building where Farha is putting a couple of pickleball courts.

Lindsey Brown vice president of operations for Farha Roofing and Ben Farha, owner and president, stand in the space they will move their headquarters into In July. “We turned the safe into a conference room,” he said. “It’s a complete overhaul.”

He’s also getting the 1956 building listed on the National Register of Historic Places to qualify for tax credits.

Along with the new headquarters, Farha Roofing now has a sixth office, this time in Orlando.

A former employee lives there, and if it weren’t for him, Farha said he probably wouldn’t have opened an office there. However, he said hurricanes make the state a good one for roofers.

“Obviously, that’s a big attraction. We know the work’s there. There’s always storms down there.”

In addition to Orlando and Wichita, the company also has offices in Denver, Durango and southeast Colorado as well as Kansas City, Mo.

Farha said he’s open to growing to more cities, but he’s not actively looking.

“We kind of like to let it come to us organically.”
