How good are you at playing undead? Casting call put out for local extras for 'Dead' City'

Being tall and gaunt with dead eyes and hanging and dragging limbs doesn't make for the greatest Tinder profile ever, but it could very well land some locals on TV.

Boston-based Kendall Cooper Casting is looking for a few good zombies for the second season of AMC's "The Walking Dead: Dead City," which the company said will be shooting in the Boston area from April through July.

Besides the slow-movie body chompers, aka walkers, the agency said in its casting call that it is also looking for extras to play soldiers, post-apocalyptic survivors and other extra roles for the show throughout the season.

What is 'Walking Dead: Dead City' about?

The show centers around longtime "Walking Dead" characters Maggie and Negan as "they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world," according to the Internet Movie Database.

What role am I right for?

Kendall Cooper Casting posted descriptions of the sorts of physical qualities they are seeking for the various roles. People of all ages and ethnicities are encouraged to try out.

  • Soldiers: Athletes and people with military or law enforcement experience

  • Survivors: Capable people with weathered faces

  • Walkers: Very thin, tall people with flexible schedules to play the role

What do I need to submit for a role 'Dead City'?

The agency has a list of submission guideline prospective extras should include in their applications. They include:

  • Three current photos of yourself clearly show your current hair length, style and any facial hair.

  • One current close-up photo and two current full-body photos. The agency said pictures should not include hats, sunglasses, masks or filters and should not be professional photos.

  • The agency stressed that as the show is set in post-apocalyptic world, submission photos should a natural look with little or no make-up to reflect the it's tone.

Where exactly will the 'Dead City' be filming?

The first season of the show was mostly filmed in New Jersey.

While the casting call said the new season is filming in Boston, several online movie sites and other pages have said Randolph is also a likely location for at least some portion of the production.

How much time will being an extra take?

"Some extra roles will work one or two days of filming, while others will be recurring throughout the season," the casting call said. "Filming will generally takes place Monday-Friday and will be a 12-plus hour commitment for each day of work."

All extra work and fittings are paid, and the agency is seeking both Screen Actors Guild members and non-union talent. Only people local to the area should apply, as extras will not be covered for travel or housing expenses.
