The Giants Tried Out 3 Notable Free Agents Today
The New York Giants appear to be doing some last-minute shopping before training camp officially begins.
ESPN insider Field Yates announced that New York brought in a few free agents for tryouts this week. The G-Men reportedly tried out running back/return specialist Tyler Ervin, running back Mike Weber and defensive back Jordyn Peters.
Ervin, 27, spent the 2020 season with the Green Bay Packers. He also had brief stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens. Most of his production in the NFL has come on special teams.
Weber, meanwhile, has been a part of three different rosters since joining the NFL in 2019. He began his career with the Dallas Cowboys as a seventh-round draft pick, but was then signed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad a few months later. The Chiefs parted ways with Weber in May of 2020, opening the door for him to sign with the Green Bay Packers.
As for Peters, he was recently cut by the New York Jets to make room for Morgan Moses. He was a reliable presence in Auburn’s secondary during his college career, recording 101 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
With training camps approaching, free agent tryouts will pick back up.

It’s unclear at this time if the Giants will sign any of these three players.
With camp just about ready to begin, New York won’t be the only team looking for extra bodies to add to its roster.
