Getting younger means getting better for the Kansas City Royals: podcast

It’s been quite a week for a pair of Kansas City Royals rookies. Starting pitcher Brady Singer produced six scoreless innings in a victory over the Dodgers on Sunday to end a 12-game winning streak for baseball’s best team. Vinnie Pasquantino homered in that game and several others. He’s hit five home runs in the last seven games and was named AL player of the week.

Performances like that make it easy to ponder the future. Also in a couple of games this season the Royals have started seven position players who qualify as rookies. Beat writer Lynn Worthy and columnist Sam McDowell discuss the Royals and their future on today’s podcast, which started as a SportsBeat Live.
