Firing operation to protect Worton's Market in Foresthill area from Mosquito Fire
Flames from the Mosquito Fire are moving closer to the community of Foresthill in Placer County after a flare-up in activity. Video from LiveCopter 3 shows heavy smoke near Foresthill High School. Multiple vehicles and structures by the school were also engulfed. The Fire Integrated Real-Time Intelligence System, or FIRIS, said this flare-up alone has burned at least 300 acres as of 3:38 p.m. The entire area burning that is considered the Mosquito Fire has burned closer to 50,000 acres total. Evacuation orders have expanded meanwhile for communities in Placer and El Dorado counties.
