Neighbors fest in the park

Annunciation Catholic School at Christ the King Church will host its second Vann Park Neighbors Fest at Vann Park on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Look for food trucks, artisan makers, music, entertainment and more.

Vann Park is on Vann Avenue between Bayard Park and Gum Streets.

New restaurant open on North First Avenue

Chick O Fish is now open on Evansville's North Side. The menu is similar to that of Sam's Southern Eatery, which previously occupied the space. It focuses on fried fish strips, shrimp, and chicken fingers in an endless variety of combos. Also on the menu are po'boy sandwiches, a chicken sandwich, and a shrimp salad.

Halloween wine tastings

Wine-Oh Tours & Events by Pam Reimann will host Boos and Bubbly at Studio Eden on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 6-8 p.m. and Hallowine at The CoWorking Cottage, on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 6-8 p.m. At each, Reimann will guide you through a tasting experience featuring four wines paired with your favorite sweet Halloween treats. Tickets are $30-$40.

Second location for popular pizza restaurant

Dontae’s In and Out will be the second, carry-out only location of Dontae's Highland Pizza Parlor. No opening date has yet been announced.

New Mexican restaurant on North Side

Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant is preparing to open on Evansville's North Side. This will be the second location for the restaurant, which is based in Grayville, Illinois. Look for American-Mexican favorites such as fries loaded with beef strips and queso, burritos, fajitas, chimichangas, street tacos and more.

Preschool barbecue fundraiser

The Noah's Ark Christian Preschool is partnering with Lashbrooke's BBQ for a fundraiser. A one-pound portion of pulled pork is $15 and a family meal with two pounds of pork with sauce, macaroni & Cheese, and coleslaw is $35. Submit orders and payment by Monday, Oct. 10. Pickup will be Sunday, Oct. 16 from Noon-1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Newburgh, Ind. at 4544 State Route 261.

High Tea in Newburgh

Mulberry Jeans Accents and Chemo Buddies will present a high tea on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. Enjoy a full tea service and learn how beneficial tea can be for your body. Tickets are $10.

Food trucks and food drive

World Food Day will be celebrated by Feed Evansville at the CK Newsome Center on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2-6 p.m. Bring canned and non-perishable foods to donate to the food drive and talk to local farmers, enjoy food trucks, bounce houses and kids' activities, and more.
