‘Elf the Musical’ brings holiday cheer, hilarious hijinks to Fort Worth’s Bass Hall

Get into the holiday spirit and enjoy some laughs along the way when “Elf the Musical” comes to Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Nov. 11-13.

“Elf,” based on the 2003 hit film starring Will Ferrell that has become a modern-day classic, chronicles the journey of an orphan who leaves the North Pole in a quest to find his birth father.

The child-like Buddy doesn’t realize he is actually human as he struggles to make toys among his tiny elf companions. Santa gives him permission to leave for New York as Buddy tries to find his identity and the true meaning of Christmas.

“Elf,” part of the Broadway Specials series, also features original songs by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (“The Prom,” “The Wedding Singer”).

Glow in the dark Monster Trucks at Dickies

Watch all your favorite Hot Wheels come to life in supersized form when the “Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party” heads to Dickies Arena, Nov. 12-13.

Also see real-life versions of the monster truck toys light up in the dark during this dazzling show. Mega Wrex, Tiger Shark, Boneshaker, Bigfoot and other trucks will battle during intense competitions.

Performances also feature a dance party, laser light shows and Hot Wheels toy giveaways. Also, catch a special appearance from the car-eating, fire-breathing transforming robot MEGASAURUS, and the high-flyers of Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live, Freestyle Motocross!

Taco Festival at Texas Live!

What’s better than tacos? A taco party, of course.

Join all the fun for the 4th annual Texas Taco Festival as it returns to Texas Live! next to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Nov. 12-13 from 2 to 8 p.m. each day.

Indulge in a variety of tacos and other delicious food such as elotes, churros, desserts, birria and more. Also check out the Texas-sized margarita and nacho bars.

Other activities include hot chili pepper and taco eating contests and axe throwing. And it’s fun for all ages as a Kids Fun Zone includes bounce houses and face painting. Live bands will be on stage playing traditional mariachi music.
