Here are the downtown Sumner businesses that were damaged in Friday morning’s fire

The smell of smoke lingered along a usually busy street in Sumner’s downtown area Friday morning.

Firefighters continued to assess the 3 a.m. blaze that caused damage to a two-story building.

The building, which is near Kincaid Avenue and Main Street, held three businesses and a few office spaces. The businesses are Whispering Hills Market LLC, The Attic and Stuck Junction Saloon.

City spokesperson Carmen Palmer said all three owners have had their businesses for about five years or more.

Whispering Hills Market LLC is a furniture and home decoration store. The Attic is a wedding and events venue. Stuck Junction Saloon is a bar and restaurant.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire, Palmer said.

No one was injured in the fire, which caused fire and smoke damage throughout the building, The News Tribune reported. A fire official said the building had fire alarms but no sprinklers. The fire stopped spreading around 5:15 a.m.

The fire also forced the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District to reroute Sumner High School’s homecoming parade, The News Tribune reported. The parade was scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
