Downtown Milwaukee shooting, woman killed near Cass and Kilbourn
MILWAUKEE - A shooting in downtown Milwaukee left a woman dead on Saturday afternoon, May 25.
Police arrested a 59-year-old man in connection to the shooting, and said it was domestic violence related. The district attorney's office will review charges.
It happened near Cass and Kilbourn, just north of the Northwestern Mutual campus, around 12:45 p.m. Officials have identified the victim as a 60-year-old woman.

Yellow crime scene tape stretched across the emotional scene.
"I came home to a pretty emotional scene of the daughter finding out what had happened. It was her mother," said neighbor Kiera Notz. "Lots of hysterics, crying and everyone trying to figure out what happened."
While on the scene, FOX6 heard family members say the victim had just turned 60 years old the same day. They were too emotional to talk on camera.
Notz told FOX6 she has lived in the area for a year, and this was the first time she's known of a shooting nearby since she's been there.

"It’s been getting a little worse in the past year," she said. "It was nice originally, and it’s just kind of gone downhill."
Isaac Lee has lived in the neighborhood for two years; he, too, said this was new to him. He said hearing of the shooting made him reflect on what's important.
"Something tragic like that, it really opens up how you feel about life," he said.
Both Lee and Notz said they are getting ready to move out of the neighborhood, but that gun violence is not the reason. Both said they are fed up with shootings around the city.
"It’s scary, but I don’t know what we can do about it," Lee said.
"I don’t hear of anyone using a gun in a good way ever, so I’m just kind of sick of it all, and it’s very frustrating," said Notz.
