Don't miss these 21 athletes at the MIAA indoor state track & field championships

The Reggie Lewis Center is about to enter its busy season. The divisional state track meets begin Wednesday with Division 5, which kicks off five straight days of finding who is the fastest, highest and furthest across the commonwealth.

Each divisional event winner will automatically advance to the Meet of Champions on Saturday, Feb. 24. Otherwise, the top 24 performances in the state across all five divisions will compete there.

Here are 21 MetroWest and Milford athletes not to miss at the meets:

ZACH BARTON, AMSA

He holds Division 5's top seed in the 55-meter hurdles (7.72) and will race for the Eagles in the 4x200 relay.

KAYLA BOHLIN, Wellesley

The defending champs have the Division 2 girls 600-meter run No. 1 seed. She's at 1 minute, 36.85 seconds.

CHRISTOPHER BROOKS, Wellesley

One of the state's quickest sprinters has the No. 1 seed in Division 2 at 6.39 seconds. It's the top mark in the state so far, as well. The William & Mary signee also holds the No. 2 mark in the 300 (35.39).

ANNIE COMELLA, Wellesley

The junior will be busy at the Division 2 meet. She's the top seed in the 55-meter dash (7.13 seconds) and long jump (18-6), No. 2 in the 300 (40.83). Comella holds the meet record in the long jump and has the state's top leap so far.

LILY DeFORGE, Franklin

The senior is the No. 2 seed in the Division 1 girls shot put at 40-3.25. There are three Panthers in the top 10. Elizabeth Hopkins (37-1.25) follows her in fifth, while Darby Nicholson is eighth (34-4.25).

AVERIE DENELLE, Tri-County

The senior has Division 5's top girls high jump seed at 5 feet, 6 inches. It's tied for second in the state with Macy Daigle from Central Catholic. Concord-Carlisle's Charlotte DiRocco has cleared 5-6.25. She's also competing in the 55-meter hurdles and on Tri-County's 4x200 relay.

ABBY DESMARAIS, Framingham

Keep up with her if you can. The senior Holy Cross signee is Division 1's top 300-meter dash seed in 40.03 seconds and the No. 2 seed in the Division 1 girls 55-meter dash (7.32). It's the fastest 300 in the state so far this year. The Flyers are also the top seed in the girls 4x400 at 4:05.3. Ava Lombardo, Sasha Lamakina and Ella Terranova are on the team, too.

SARAH DUMAS, Franklin

The All-American and UPenn signee is Division 1's No. 1 seed in the girls 55-meter hurdles at 8.39 seconds and the No. 2 seed in the high jump (5-feet, 4 inches). She's tied with Plymouth South's Camryn Travis for the state's quickest hurdles performance this winter.

REED FENNO, Dover-Sherborn

He's the No. 2 seed in the Division 4 boys 300 (36.55) and will also race in the 55. His teammate Matt Rooney is the no. 2 seed in the boys 1,000 at 2:35.13, just .01 seconds behind Ludlow's Logan Walsh.

FRANKLIN'S GIRLS 4x200-METER RELAY

The Panthers squad of Olivia Costa, Anna Cliff, Ella Chandaria and Jossie Camp sprinted to Division 1's top prelim mark at 1:46.63. That's just .08 seconds ahead of No. 2 Lowell.

CHARITY JOHNSON, Medway

The senior has the Division 5 girls shot put top seed (35-11)

CHRISTOPHER KARDOS, Algonquin

He's the No. 2 seed in the Division 2 boys 1,000 (2:34.59) and mile (4:23.14). Kardos is just .41 seconds away from the leader in the 1,000 and behind teammate Stephen White in the mile (4:22.45). Kardos also has the No. 2 mark in the two-mile (9:44.14).

SASHLA LAMAKINA, Framingham

Just a sophomore, she holds the Division 1 girls 600-meter run No. 1 seed at 1:36.15. She's also No. 3 in the 1,000 (2:58.59) and on Framingham's top 4x4 relay team.

OLIVIA LaBELLE, Algonquin

She's the top seed in the Division 2 girls 55-meter hurdles in 8.49 seconds. The Titans also are the top seed in the girls 4x200 relay (1:44.89), a team LaBelle will factor on.

KAUA LIMA, Holliston

The Panthers' do it all quarterback brings his athleticism to the high jump, where he's Division 4's top seed at 6-4.

MILES LIPKA, Algonquin

He holds top-five seeds in three events in Division 2. Lipka is second in the long jump (21-4.75), tied for second in the long jump with two others (including Hopkinton's Logan Sullivan) at 6-4 and third in the 55-meter hurdles (7.95).

MAGGIE KUCHMAN & CARMEN LUISI, Holliston

The Panthers' distance domination is in full display in Division 4. The Syracuse-bound Luisi is the No. 1 seed in the girls 600 (1:37.32) and 1,000 (2:53.25) and No. 2 in the mile (5:11.54) behind her teammate Kuchman (5:05.45), the reigning cross country state champion. Kuchman also has the top seed in the 2-mile (11:19.2) and No. 2 in the 1,000 (2:58.8). Luisi's 1,000 mark is the fastest in the state so far. They helped Holliston to the 4x800 relay No. 2 mark(10:00.12).

GABRIELLE PIERRE, Lincoln-Sudbury

The high flyer is Division 1's preeminent long jumper. She's seeded No. 1 at 18 feet, 1.25 inches. No one else in the field has cleared the 18-foot mark. Pierre will also compete in the 55 and on L-S' 4x200 relay.

PARKER ROGERS, Marlbrough

He holds the top Division 4 mark in the boys shot put at 53 feet, 11.5 inches. No one else in the field cracks 50.

CHARLOTTE & EMMA TUXBURY, Wellesley

The sisters have carved out the top two seeds in the Division 2 girls mile. Charlotte, a junior, is the only one in the state under the 5-minute barrier at 4:59.23. Emma, a sophomore is No. 2 at 5:05.99. Their teammate Bridget Reidy has the top Division 2 two-mile mark (11:21.7). That distance domination puts Wellesley at the top mark in the girls 4x800 relay (9:29.64).

DYLAN WEDDLE, Natick

The senior is the top seed in the Division 1 boys long jump at 22 feet, 7 inches. That's six inches further than the field and the second-longest mark in the state behind Mansfield's Chamberlain Guthrie Jr (22-11.25). He'll also compete in the 300 and on Natick's 4x400 relay.

STEPHEN WHITE, Algonquin

Division 2's preeminent distance runner is the top seed in both the mile and two-mile. He runs the mile in 4:22.45 and the two-mile in 9:37.4.
