How did Jim Harbaugh do as Michigan's quarterback against Ohio State?
Ohio State football's success against Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has been well documented.
Since Harbaugh took over the Wolverines football program in 2015, the Buckeyes have won five of six meetings with Michigan. Harbaugh ended a five-game losing streak against Ohio State in 2021, beating the Buckeyes 42-27 in Ann Arbor.
But Harbaugh's experience against Ohio State has not only been as a football coach.

Before coaching, Harbaugh was a Michigan quarterback, playing for the Wolverines from 1982-86.
Harbaugh is ninth in team history with 387 completions and eighth in team history with 5,449 passing yards, throwing 31 touchdowns and 22 interceptions in four years of playing time.

While Harbaugh was on the roster for Michigan's matchups against Ohio State in 1982-89, two of which the Buckeyes won, his first action in "The Game" didn't come until 1985.
Michigan's 24-14 loss to Ohio State in 1982, the Wolverines' 24-21 win against the Buckeyes in 1983 and Ohio State's 21-6 win against Michigan in 1984, Harbaugh's first taste of action in "The Game" didn't come until 1985.
Leading Michigan to a 27-17 win against Ohio State in Ann Arbor, Harbaugh completed 16 of his 19 pass attempts for 230 passing yards and three touchdowns to Gerald White, John Kolesar and Eric Kattus.

Harbaugh followed up his 1985 performance with a 26-24 win against the Buckeyes in Columbus, recording 261 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions with 19 completions on 29 pass attempts.
Whether at quarterback or as the Wolverines' coach, Michigan has won four of its 11 matchups with Harbaugh.
